I’ve been a Netflix member since September 14th, 2006.    I’ve rented a lot of movies and tv shows.  Out of the many, many, many discs that has passed through my mailbox, it’s funny that I can only remember a few (from first watched to last):

  • Larry the Cable Guy
  • The Complete Babylon 5 Series
  • Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story
  • Memoirs of a Geisha
  • Idlewild
  • Blood Diamond
  • Borat
  • The World’s Fastest Indian
  • Black Snake Moan
  • Knocked Up
  • Bullitt
  • 30 Days of Night
  • No Country for Old Men
  • There Will Be Blood
  • Rambo
  • The Bucket List
  • Juno
  • In Bruges
  • Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels
  • Trainspotting
  • Balls of Fury
  • Donnie Darko
  • Chop Shop
  • Redbelt
  • Surfwise
  • Sicko
  • The Usual Suspects
  • Hancock
  • Wall-E
  • Man on Wire
  • Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist
  • Seven Pounds
  • Pineapple Express
  • Zack and Miri Make a Porno
  • Notorious
  • Fanboys
  • TrueBlood Season 1
  • The Soloist
  • Transformers The Movie
  • Transformers Seasons 1 & 2
  • The Taking of Pelham 123
  • Jennifer’s Body
  • Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs
  • Up
  • Zombieland
  • Paranormal Activity
  • Law Abiding Citizen
  • Transsiberian
  • From Paris with Love
  • The Wolfman

I know this may seem like a long list, but it’s only about a fourth of the movies I’ve rented with Netflix (this list doesn’t include what I’ve watched online with the Instant Queue).

Transformers

I watched the new Transformers movie a few weeks ago.  I thought it was pretty good.  It was action packed.  I don’t think it was as good as the first Transformers movie though.  Also, it had a little too much comic relief for my taste.

One of my biggest compliants is that all of the Decepticons look the same.  Starscream looks a little distinguishing by his winged chest.  But, none of them actually look like themselves.  Also, I was very under-impressed with how they made Devistator.  He looked like a pile of moving parts, nothing like the orginal.

Speaking of original, why do they choose to just throw names around and attach them to any Transformer they choose?  I know since G1, they’ve used the same names for different transformers, but this is getting out of hand.  Didn’t they have a Devistator on the first Transformers also that Optimus killed?

Despite these annoyances, I still enjoyed the movie.

Back to Netflix

I had to go back to Netflix.  Redbox is great, but the selection is very limited.  Granted, they have the latest releases..but..not TV Series.  I heard about an HBO series “True Blood” that sound right down my line.  Well, I don’t have HBO anymore.  I checked Redbox and of course they didn’t have it.  I checked Netflix, of course they had it.

Sorry I ever left you Netflix!!

Game Changer

Yesterday I made a few BIG changes!!

I canceled my Netflix account for one.  My co-worker told me that there was a new RedBox on the route I take to work.  I had never used a RedBox before, but was always interested in them.  I had heard good things about it.  Lately I’ve been too busy to watch the moves I get from Netflix.  With RedBox I can control when I get a move.  And for $1 a day, it’s OK with me!!

I also cancelled my Audible account.  I basically got the account so I could finish The Dark Tower series.  I read books 1-4, but got tired of reading so I got books 5-7 on Audible.   Audible is great, but I never have time to listen to my podcasts.

And finally, I subscribed to GameFly.  There is alot of great games coming out.  But, at $60 a pop I don’t get to play many of them.  Also, I tend to lose interest in most games if they aren’t a game I can pickup and play for only 20-30 minutes…like Call of Duty 5 Deathmatch.  Also this will give me a chance to get some of the games my brother gets on GameFly and we can play them together.

Yeah…these moves are a real “Game Changer” for me…..

No Time 2 Game

I had to work late yesterday, so I was dead tired when I got home.  I didn’t even think about firing up the XBox or the Wii.  I did watch Carnivale Season2 Disc2 though.  I watched the series when it came on HBO and I loved it.  I’m getting a refresher through Netflix.  I also got Hellboy 2 in yesterday.  I think I’ll hold off on watching that one for the weekend.

Yesterday was rainy all day.  I don’t think today will be any better.  At least it has warmed up a little.
